FITTING WIDER FRONT TYRE

Anybody fitted a 120/90 x 18" tyre to the standard VMax front rim?.Are there any clearance or safety issuesThe specified tyre is 110/90 x 18"

Oil Leak Problem

Hi Guys

Looking ofr some help here - I have a oil leak from the rear right (as you sit on the bike) carb manifold. I have just put the carbs back on and now there is a leak from the outer most bolt hole. Judging by the way this bolt came out - It looks like the previous owner has cross-threaded the hole to the point that the bolt has pierced through the head into ( I guess) a oil way.

I have tried instant gasket around the oiil way but now there are no threads for the bolt...

Broken Throttle Sleeve

I have discovered my throttle sleeve is broken as result of being dropped ,
Do i have to get a Vmax 1992 one , or are they the same as other makes/models .
How do i get to it and take it off to put the new one on ?

Hi i need a set of high comp pistons (12-1 comp), in 1 or 2mm oversice.
anyone know where to get them in europe? i can only find them in the usa.

Fuel pump keeps running?

Guys, when I first start my max it makes a five second noise from the fuel pump then when the motor starts the noise from the pump stops. Now it is not stopping it stays running? Any ideas?

hi guys after taking your advice my horse has got her new boots avon venom rear avon road rider front .The front has been fitted what looks to me as it is fitted the wrong way !!! but being as the tyre has a front or rear application it has 2 directional arrows this is where i am now confused any advice please !!!

master reservoir brackets

where can I get some master reservoir brackets? have seen some on Ebay, but they only offer the brake brackets and not the clutch. Any ideas? I just purchased some Nissin masters.

Help chaps - whirring noise off throttle

My Max has just developed a rather alarming loud mechanical whirring noise, but only when I roll off the throttle. It is fine under power. It sounds a bit like something rubbing against a tyre, but is clearly not this and is something mechanical. Anyone got any ideas what this could be? I'm worried about riding the bike as it stands...

ive changed over to the 98 fuel and to start with it was great but its not running spot on anymore and when i pulled the plugs i found them all sooty and black.
could the richer fuel do this and i now need one of those colour tune jobbys and back off the fuel a bit ?
anyone else noticed this?

nissin master question

So if I go to the Nissin masters, which one do I use? I have found postings of a 14mm and a 5/8" piston size.. They are very close to the same size. do you think it will make a differance? I am pretty sure I am not suppose to use the radial masters correct? I am going to the R1 conversion

Loosing Power on pull away

My disabled friends V max trike runs up and idles beautifully on choke, then once warmed up ticks over very nicely. But when he goes to pull away it fades and dies.
All the carbs have been checked and rebuilt, a brand new fuel pump installed, a known good ignition unit and brand new wiring harness from H at exact rep fitted, brand new airbox filter, air leaks checked for, brand new coils, brand new pulse generator coils fitted, the mixture adjusted with a colour tune which is showing a...

Indicator warning light

Hi, anybody know where to pick up the power for extra indicator warning light? Have tried to use power from stock warning light but it only works on one side or the other, depending which way you have the wires. Looking to light an led when indicating either way.

im 6ft 2... long journeys especially on motorways are no fun, it becomes a struggle to hold on.

have just spent 6 hours stripping,sanding and polishing scoops,but to no avail,i have made them look worse....don't ask! (numpty),have wet n dryed my fingers away,am now thinking of cheating and getting them chromed,any one have a rough idea of cost? or alternatives.....please not the wet n dry again!!

Awful Noise

Hi Guys

Every now and again I get this dreadfull knocking/clanging/banging noise from the engine when starting. If I stop and then hit the starter again all is fine and the bike fires and runs perfectly. It sounds like the cogs that connect the starter motor to the starter clutch but these all appear fine with no worn or missing teach

I have read about the starter clutch causing noises but I have checked the action i.e starter will only move in one direction as described...

i not a novice but i have baught one second hand and i think there are spacers missing for the bottom two holes.
